There seems to be a sudden exodus of friends going on and since I've wanted to follow - or track?? - some things over on dreamwidth anyway, I caved and set up an account.

I feel a bit stupid trying to navigate DW, so I've blindly friended whomever I could find right away.

Or rather, 'I granted access'. That's friending, right? Right?

What's that subscribing business? Am I doing it wrong?

Subscribing = friending and granting access = watching. To be safe, do both :)

The good thing is, for now, DW is a virtual mirror of LJ, since they use the same software, but DW is gradually changing things, so be sure to read the occasional e-mails that they send out with news and tips.

I don't have the patience to go flitting here there and everywhere to follow the latest trend, so I'll be here for the foreseeable future. Besides, I enjoy supporting a platform that vexes Medvedev and his ilk :)

No, LJ is my first and true love, DW will be a means to no longer miss updates on some awesome stories and maybe to stay in touch with some people in case they aren't coming back here. (Sadly, it has happened before.

I'm not leaving *smooches* just getting an account to follow some stories that update exclusively there - open ID is not working for me and I hate that I wasn't able to comment, so far.

Some people threatening to leave worked as a catalyst, I guess :)

I hear you. I don't even have facebook or twitter, they annoy me to no end.

Every now and the there is a wave of people leaving and I always think 'They'll be back', but then they aren't. Maybe I can ride the fence?

I wanted to get a DW account for quite some time since I am following some stories there and it will just make things easier.

I'll have a look when I log into DW - probably after Christmas.

I am not sure how much I'll be using DW, so far I just want to follow some stories that update only there.
