Yup.

My laptop officially went belly up.

Even my personal IT-god in Geneva could do nothing after about ten hours of remote-assistance-first-aid and trying to talk me through the process of formatting my hard drive and booting from cd.

Only that my laptop decided that it no longer likes the cd and simply rejects it.

I also have no idea where the next electronics shop is. In my hysteria I am contemplating getting a new one from Argos (mail order company)...

Now you will say, hey, there are people, who live without internet. Yes. And I have done so. Frequently and recently. But the internet is my haven to call friends and family free of charge, to write emails, to READ FANFICTION and LJ.

*sobs* Argos, here I come.

Mein Laptop ist offiziell vom boesen Virus getoetet worden.

Nicht einmal mein persoenlicher IT-Gott in Genf konnte noch etwas fuer das gute Stueck tun - sogar nach 10 Stunden Fern-Diagnostik und Versuchen mich telefonisch durch den Formatierungsprozess zu bringen.

Es gibt hier keinen Saturn, keinen Media Markt oder etwas aehnliches - ja, ich habe in den gelben Seiten geschaut. Was weiss ich wie die das hier machen. In meiner Hysterie ueberlege ich jetzt, mir einen neuen Laptop ueber Argos (entspricht in etwa "Quelle", nur ohne Klamotten) zu kaufen!

Ja, mir ist durchaus klar, dass ich ohne Internet nicht sterben werde. Wie Ihr wisst, habe ich letztens jede Menge Internet-freie Zeiten durchlebt. Aber das Internet ist meine Lebenslinie nach Hause. Ich telefoniere kostenlos mit Euch und schreibe Emails und, aeh, lese Fanfiction und schreibe LJ.

*schluchz* Argos, ich komme.

I'm so sorry about your laptop. That sucks. I hope you didn't lose anything vital, and hope you get a pretty new one soon!

Oh, this is awful! I'm so sorry to hear that. I know what you're feeling - I can't stand it when I can't get near the internet at any given time. Th withdrawal is brutal.

I hope you can get a new machine quickly, so you can get back to normal.
