Obliviate 2009
Back from London!
I had a blast!
Starting out I met
robs55 and her cousin, who was a blessing, becaus eshe knows her way around London, as where I only manage to go places I need to go and find my way back.
Anyhow, first we went to Platform 9 3/4 to catch the Hogwarts express:

Then we went on one of the "Heritage" bus lines, which are supposed to feature the traditional red double decker buses, but we only got a modern one. We managed to get prime seats, front row on the upper floor and had some panoramic views of inner city London, then we failed to get off the bus before it went into less interesting areas but still got to the restaurant in time.
Loads of people!
It was quite lovely, meeting so many HP-fans. Unfortunately acoustics in the restaurant were...special, so we had to either stick to talking to our neighbours or scream.
Back at the hotel
nursedarry and
cassie_black had brilliant surprises for us. I got sorted into Ravenclaw! I always thought of myself as a sort of Slytherdor and was even wearing a Slytherin shirt that declared "Sorted!" , but hey, I am definitely not complaining!
We had to sit our NEWT's and due to awesome team work, the house of Ravenclaw had the highest score!
In our goodie bags

we found gift-drabbles (a heartbreaking HG/SS YAY!), chocolate!!!, shiny, flashing pens, sweets and a raffle ticket.
Now I won some awesome children's art by Darry's daughter Claire. She made me a triad-pic! It's Harry-Hermione-Draco. So cute!
But there was also some fanart to be won. It was Harry, Draco or Harr/Draco and absolutely gorgeous!! I had some pictures taken, but Darry raised a very important issue - there are several people in the background of my pictures whom I have no possibility to contact and get permission to post pictures. So, you'll have to take my word on it that the fanart really was superb.
I just wish it could have lasted longer! Before I knew it it was 22:30 and I had to rush off to the train station. I think I will suggest to
nursedarry to start the next meetup earlier. Maybe we could have lunch together instead of dinner and start the fun right afterward? So many people had to leave around the same time as I and there was no chance to really meet everybody and chat. And I didn't get to play pictionary. *pouts*
It was great!
With a NEWT score like that I should be able to get a nice Ministry job with a desk preferably as close as possible to Draco's. Or Blaise's. Or Lucius' office. Yeah. Definitely close to Lucius' office. Maybe he needs a PA??
For the people on my Christmas-card list and who have sent me their addresses for Obliviate-postcards, fear not, they'll be in the mail by tomorrow, I just have to get the special stamps for the US and continental Europe.

As for that job in Lucius' office, I'm sorry to say it's already taken. And if you pop into his office and don't see me, it's b/c I'm under the desk. *snerk*

How about job-sharing?
*points to labib's comment*

Maybe I'll see you next year in Edinburgh?

I'm soooooo jealous. Anyhow, sounds like a lovely time and it's great to meet fellow HP friends, isn't it?
*YAY* cards...I'm not in Munich this week...oh, whatever...something to look for at the weekend. =)

It sounds as though Obliviate will be on your to-do list every year. It's always so much fun being with people who really appreciate your special interest and know all about it like you do.
Don't listen to Dyno. Lucius is quite capable of having more than one personal assistant. She may be under the desk, but you can sit on the top and I'm sure he'd enjoy your inkwell while Dyno is sharpening his quill.

Or very little compared to some others.
I'll definitely go next year if I can manage.
I like your approach to HR-management. *leers*

Well, damn. I didn't think you'd see that post. And why would you care? You chose the end you wanted. There was plenty of Lucius left over.
Didn't you know I don't have to have turns? When he's finished at the office for the day he comes home to me. Just leave him a little energy for the evening. The velvet swing can do the rest *wink*.

I bought a marauders map from Hamleys! I spent way too much money today, but hey... I probably won't be in London again for a while!
Hopefully see you at next years Obliviate!
