I voted for the local government and had a grand total of three candidates to chose from.

Let's just say it's not my fault if the Tory wins.

On a very happy note: turnout looked sensational. There was a long queue outside the polling station, which continued in the halls inside the polling station and also inside the polling room.

Awesome.

The helpers or whatever you call them here kept making astonished noises about having never before seen so many people turn up for voting. I hope it's the same all over the UK.

Uncoffined has made it past seconding and is now an official nominee for Best WIP!

A huge thank you to everyone, who has seconded!

There are six stories in this category and when I read the other author's names and titles I just want to crawl under my fluffy duvet on the couch and hide until voting is over.

Alas, hiding is not allowed and I implore you all: go to [livejournal.com profile] dramione_awards and read, enjoy, vote...

Just a very quick question, which I have been dieing to ask - and could not because I STILL HAVE NO BROADBAND!! :

How long did you wait to cast your vote? Did you have to stand in a mile-long line for five hours (as reported on BBC news) ?

When I heard this, I was outraged. And I don't even get to vote.

After a two year (gasp!) campaign, which cost a gazillion dollars, there is not enough money to put up enough polling stations? WTF?

I never waited longer than 5 minutes to cast my vote.

So I'd be really interested if these news were just an exaggeration or if you all had to take off the day from work...
