On another note, I just ate porridge for the first time and can't see the appeal, unless one is Oliver Twist. I certainly will not waste any more of my expensive maple syrup on it!

My only excuse for not being around is that I have been unable to sit/stand/walk/sleep for any reasonable amount of time as of late and sitting in front of the computer is a bit of a hardship. I also spent quite a few days in hospital. Not overnight, but whenever I have an appointment for some test or another, an emergency pregnancy or the police (WTF??) seem to show up, which in turn results in me waiting for two or three hours. Or five.

So, yeah.

BUT! I am determined to write something. Soon. Soon-ish. Maybe today.

Today was my last day at work.

It was supremely strange.

I had to bite my tongue on several occassions so I wouldn't tell any of the customers that it is my last day. On Wednesday, one of them wanted my direct phone number because he claimed that I was the only one at the office, who could understand his dialect :) He was quite crushed when I told him my direct line wouldn't do him any good after this week.

I had not expected to be so sad.

Or to actually cry.

As horrid as some of the working conditions were, the people are absolutely wonderful.

EDIT: I just realised that today, of all days, I forgot to delete my browsing history. Yes.

This must be quick.

I am afraid that my online presence generally and my swiftness regarding review responses and/or updating specifically might suffer during the next days weeks months eep! no, definitely a few weeks at the most.

We are moving out of the flat on the 8th of August and our flights are on the 11th.

I have managed to put chapter 5 (aka the moste evil chapter) of Hysteria into the queue over at H&V and GE and I hope to do an update post as soon as something is validated, but I might not make it.

If I am horribly slow in replying to emails or constantly absent on skype, messenger or google talk, it's simply because I am running around like mad, trying to sell the washing machine.

I am not entirely sure that this will get better from around the 15th of August.

If they have not cancelled the broadband my husband organised when he was there last time.

Today I managed to go to the train station and buy the tickets for Edinburgh. I am quite thrilled. Due to Tania being poorly on the weekend and other issues, I missed the best time to buy the tickets but it's still much cheaper and much more pleasant to go by train than by air plane.

Edinburgh, here we come!

AND I just ordered my contribution to the raffle! I am so excited! I nearly lost hope, when the company I usually work with left me hanging for nearly three months! Every now and then they senty me a sporadic email and that was it! Now I found another company and it took only a week from the initial contact to the finished product! *dances*

On the way back from the station we popped into a charity shop on a whim and found some amazing HP playing cards. Nice. Very nice, indeed.

On another note, I had no time whatsoever to do as much to my DBB as I wanted to. *shrugs* It is the way it is. Tania comes first.
(And now I better get back to that story, give it a once over and send it off!)

As far as RL is concerned, I am excited about flying to Berlin next Friday! It's half term and barring ash clouds hailing from Iceland, we should have a nice week with my parents. My dad has just started chemo therapy and is doing well so far. Three of my cousins-once-removed (we say 'grand cousins', like grandmother, this once-removed thing sounds odd...) will have their initiation ceremony thingy and my family seems to be determined to have the biggest party since my grandmother's 80th birthday. And that was 25 years ago. It's perfect because I will get to see absolutely everyone before moving!
