fic recs?

Recently, I read a few stories in which some of the students, who were at Hogwarts while the trio was Horcrux-hunting, were quite aggressive toward them, stating that they didn't know how bad that year was, because the trio hadn't been at school.

Now I got a bit obsessed with wanting to know what it was exactly like to be at Hogwarts when Snape was headmaster.

Does anybody know of 7th year fics that tell the other side of the story?

I am not fussy about pairings - gen, Ginny/Snape, Draco/Theo, Neville/the giant squid - anything goes as long as I get a glimpse of Hogwarts life :)

Is there a chance that you're able to read french ? I know a really great fic (but in french) in which the author has done a wonderful "choir" job.

Her story is about the 7th year within Hogwarts wall but repeated each chapter is written by a character PoV. So at first, the reader has a very narrow view of the events (each time it start in summer 97 and ends a little after the finale battle) but the more chapters you read, the more you see how intricate her story is.

At least I could a few years ago, I haven't used it much since I moved away from Geneva but I am sure it will all come back :)

If you can put aside the scandal involving the author, and there's lots, There's a really
popular story by thanfiction called "Dumbledore's Army and the Year of Darkness"

It mostly chronicles Neville's rise to leadership in the D.A. but it goes into a lot of other stuff too with character that don't get a lot of play.

And hollywoodlawn's Mad Snorkacks and Englishmen sorta goes more into using Luna and Ginny POVs while the Trio is hunting, but it's not the center of the story.

That's all I can think of for now. It's really an underused topic. There's so much you could invent about what happened while the Trio wasn't there.

I had no idea this thing is not well-known! An image search brought up pussy or crotch ropes as part of harnesses, but hardly any of the kind that is mounted!

It's basically a knotted rope fixed at a height that makes the woman walking it go on tip toe. The rope itself is usually of the rough variety, hemp or such. The bigger and more numerous the knots, the harsher the punishment.
