Quantum of Solace
Nov. 11th, 2008 11:22 pmSo last Friday I've been to the cinema for the first time in six and a half years.
My friend and I wanted to watch the new Bond, because it is a must to watch all Bond movies no matter whether you like the current Bond or not.
It was quite okay, I especially liked the part at the festival centre in Graz.
Something strange happened to me, though.
Has somebody older ever told you that "nowadays" movies are cut way too fast to actually see what is happening?
My father keeps telling me that and usually I think "Well, it's actually average-paced..."
Watching James Bond was watching a constant blur. There were no real slower paced parts for the plot to enfold. I feel a bit old now.
It was pretty much a EWP=Explosions Without Plot thing.
I like that Bond is not as perfect and mentally untroubled about what he has to do as a Double-0, as the previous Bonds seemed to be.
So use that!
But no.
My verdict: I don't regret watching it, but I feel like they missed out on the opportunity to make a truly brilliant Bond-movie.
