No Internets

I left my laptop alone for an hour to take a nap while Ida was napping and came back to Tani sitting in front of it ("I did ask Oma!!"), telling me that a strange warning had popped up on the screen.
Yeah.
That kind.
Now I am on borrowed time on a borrowed laptop and it doesn´t look too good for fixing mine any time soon.
So, if I owe you emails or I am not commenting at all and am out of the loop on absolutely everything, this is why.
I will do all promised beta-ing! (But will have little to no time for other internet-y things. Borrowed time, borrowed laptop and all that.)
On a positive note, I now have a teeny-tiny job teaching English to a private group of pensioners :) YAY pocket money!

Date: 2012-03-05 05:56 pm (UTC)Ida just learned how to climb the sofa, so I think I just remebered :)
I am going to a Baby/children´s flea market on 31 March. I went last year and it was really rather good. It´s also near Schloss Britz and the gardens should be rather pretty. Would you like to come? We could picnic :) On the other hand, it´s quite near us and I know how exhausting it is to travel all over the city when not well...

Date: 2012-03-05 07:05 pm (UTC)I have or am ordering pretty much everything I need for the kids, but I'd love to come along for the outfit. A picnic would be lovely too. :) I obviously couldn't do it right now, but I'm quite sure even I should be over the manflu by the end of the month!

Date: 2012-03-05 05:59 pm (UTC)It looks like a complete reboot :(
Problem is, I remember seeing my system backup disc when we packed for our England-Pakistan move and haven´t seen it since. And we had TWO cross continental moves fter that!
Thank you! It´s really just pocket money and only once a week but it will be fun and I can walk there :)

Date: 2012-03-05 11:57 am (UTC)I think I'm having a blonde day, but what kind of warning? Empty harddrive, or something?
I hope you can get it fixed soon. But I know how you feel. I'm curretntly sans iPhone (well I have an old one, but without the internet) and it's killing me.
*YAY* for the teaching job. I'm already missing my kids. I've had my last tutoring class last Wednesday and it was heartbreaking. *sniffs*

Date: 2012-03-05 06:04 pm (UTC)And I can´t find my system backup disc.
And my most worship-worthy IT wizard in Geneva is not reachable:(
LOL
I ctually have an iPhone now and it scares the living daylights out of me. I guess I like my internets on a bigger screen.
Congratulations on the move, btw! I am glad that you are getting along with your flatmates and that you are enjoying Innsbruck. I am soooo jealous about snowboarding! Did you go on the Stubaier Gletscher? *is all nostalgic*

Date: 2012-03-05 06:25 pm (UTC)YAY you got an iPhone. Awesome. I can't imagine living without it. Sad, really.
Nope, I'm literally living next to the Nordketten lift. Actually I can see the slope from my room. ;) How jealous are you now?

Date: 2012-03-06 05:43 pm (UTC)Wow, that is one awesome apartement! *wants*
Well, there is hope for a skiing holiday next Easter in Kleinarl or one in Scotland. Glencoe looks good (at least for my husband and Tania, I could do with something a bit more... Alpine).

Date: 2012-03-06 08:58 am (UTC)I stole/borrowed my husband´s laptop.
My first try at fanfic was in German. I think I still have it somewhere, written in longhand in a notebook. It was a Dramione oneshot but I think the plotline is probably overused. AND German fandom is a harsh place, so I think I won´t ever post it.

Date: 2012-03-06 09:54 am (UTC)I love teaching languages, but it's more fun when they're doing it purely for fun (which I'm guessing why pensioners are doing it?)

Date: 2012-03-06 11:30 am (UTC)Oh, yes, they are very motivated. All of them travel a lot outside the country, like at least four times a year (plus a few times within Germany - I wish I´d have started my career during the Wirtschaftswunder; none of us can even dream of pensions like theirs!). Unfortunately, none of them had a lot of English language instruction at school and didn´t need any English until they were well into their fifties.
