Merry Christmas ! Frohe Weihnachten !

Merry Christmas to all, who celebrate today und einen frohen ersten Weihnachtsfeiertag meinen deutschen Lesern!


Father Christmas was here yesterday and brought a scooter for Tania, the duck has been eaten and the cookie jars look dangerously near empty. I am not intending to lift a finger today.

Lordofclunn was incredibly sweet yesterday when he went out hunting for a shop that was selling cooking pots AND was open on the afternoon of Christmas Eve. I was near panicking when I realized - while cooking - that we did not own a big enough pot to cook the potatoes in (at least not a pot that is currently in the same country as we are).

Our Christmas tree is tiny, but perfectly proportioned. It looks nothing like our usual tree, as we do not have our ornaments, yet. Tania decided that we would have a rather pink-ish Christmas. We even indulged in some English culture, pulled some Christmas crackers and wore the paper crowns provided in each cracker.

Der Weihnachtsmann war da und hat Tania einen Roller gebracht, die Ente ist gegessen und die Plaetzchendosen sehen gefaehrlich leer aus. Ich habe nicht vor, heute auch nur einen Finger zu ruehren!

Lordofclunn war so lieb gestern einen Laden suchen zu gehen, der nicht nur Kochtoepfe verkauft sondern auch noch nachmittags am Heligabend geoeffnet hat. Ich war einer Panik gefaehrlich nahe, als ich gestern - beim kochen - feststellte, dass wir keinen Kochtopf besitzen, der gross genung ist um die Kartoffeln darin zu kochen (zumindest keinen im gleichen Land wie wir.)

Unser Weihnachtsbaum ist winzig, aber perfekt proportioniert. Er sieht voellig anders aus als unser Baum normalerweise (blinkende, kleinst-Lichter!), da wir unsere Deko noch nicht hier haben. Tania hat entschieden, dass dieses Weihnachten ziemlich pink wird... Wir haben sogar ein bisschen Englische Kultur ausprobiert, Weihnachtscracker gezogen und die Papierkronen die drin waren aufgesetzt.
